The municipality of the island of Corfu has officially confirmed its readiness to meet the major gastronomic project from Russia.
The island of Corfu will become the official venue of the events within the Russian Gastronomy Week (RGW) which will be held from October 22 to 28, 2018 in the Hellenic Republic. The International Center of Wine and Gastronomy (Moscow) organizes the Russian Gastronomy Week which is included in the approved plan of actions of the Cross year of tourism "Russia-Greece".
The RGW programme starts on October 22 with an opening ceremony at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Athens with the participation of Mr. A. Maslov, the Ambassador of Russia in Greece, the Russian and Greek officials, scientists and arts of culture, representatives of business and mass media.
Every day in frames of a Week the author's gastronomic dinners from the chefs from various Russian regions will be held, and on the closing day of the RGW the team of chefs from Russia will present to the Greek public their author's menu which is made up from dishes of different corners of our country.
The programme of the Russian Gastronomy Week in Athens and on the island of Corfu (Kerkira) will include exhibitions of Russian regions, master classes by eminent experts of Mr. V. Belyaev, the president of the Russian National Culinary Association, and Mr. L. Gelibterman, the President of the International Center of Wine and Gastronomy. The culinary summit "Russia-Greece" attracts the particular interest of professionals and representatives of mass media, and for the Greek children Russian chefs will hold a master class in pelmeni cooking.
