On November 15, a gastronomic evening was held in the Moscow Restaurant house "Buloshnaya", which gathered high-ranking guests at the second meeting of the Moscow Diplomatic Gastronomy Club (MDGC) at the special invitation of the President of the ICWAG Mr. Leonid Gelibterman.
This time the meeting of the Club was devoted to the acquaintance of foreign diplomats and journalists with the original cuisine of the Republic of Buryatia (Russian Far East). A special author's dinner was made by Mr. Ivan Zheltov, the chef of the Moscow restaurant "Orda" (the core "Orda" Restaurant is located in Ulan-Ude). Mr. Anton Salnikov, the chef of the restaurant house "Buloshnaya", made his significant share in the preparation and holding of the dinner.
The evening was opened by the President of the International Center of Wine and Gastronomy Mr. Leonid Gelibterman, the initiator and founder of the Moscow Diplomatic Gastronomy Club. Welcoming speeches to the audience addressed Her Excellency Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to the Russian Federation Ms. Norma Bertha Pensado Moreno, Plenipotentiary representative of the Republic of Buryatia in Moscow by the President of the Russian Federation Ms. Lyudmila Ibragimova and the owner of the Restaurant house "Buloshnaya" Ms. Ksenia Karaulova.
Diplomats from 12 countries, members of the International Wine and Food Society (IWFS) and media representatives were invited by Buryat chefs to taste such specialties as: sagudai "Gifts of Lake Baikal", broad whitefish with potato croquet, Buryat buuza, bird cherry cake and spicy "Taiga" tea with fragrant juniper, rosemary, cowberry leaves and pine cone jam.
Mr. Anton Salnikov and his Moscow team presented to the guests of the evening a salad with grilled veal, baked pumpkin and spinach, and for a dessert — cream with mascarpone and strawberry-lime mousse. Dinner was accompanied by Russian wines from the "Jubileynaya" winery, fruit liqueurs "Dobroyagoda" and "Bread wine" from "Chemerisov and Partners" company.
The bright decoration of the dinner was the performance of Ms. Darima Tsyrendondopova with incendiary Buryat songs and traditional Buryat "Yokhor", which swirled the guests in an energetic dance. Ms. Ksenia Devi, singer, completed the music programme with her soulful numbers in French and Spanish languages.
On behalf of the diplomatic corps, Mr. Lasro Simbolon, Deputy head of the diplomatic mission of the Embassy of Indonesia in Russia, addressed the guests with words of gratitude.
The President of the ICWAG Mr. Leonid Gelibterman, for his part, invited the chefs Mr. Ivan Zheltov and Mr. Anton Salnikov, as well as the team of the "Orda" Restaurant and the Restaurant house "Buloshnaya" to accept the gratitude and applause of the guests who appreciated such an exquisite menu. The stormy applause of foreign and Russian guests of the evening conveyed sincere admiration for those gastronomic discoveries of rich and unexplored cuisine of Russia, which were lovingly prepared for them by the professionals of cooking.
The next meeting of the Moscow Diplomatic Gastronomy Club (MDGC) is scheduled for January 2019, and in June 2019, a group of members of MDGC is going to visit the forum "Gastronomic routes of the Great Silk Road" in Ulan-Ude at the invitation of the government of the Republic of Buryatia.
