23rd session of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) General Assembly.

The 23rd session of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) General Assembly - the largest event in the world tourism industry – was held from 9 to 13 September 2019 in Saint Petersburg.

Its business program consisted of various events: meetings, reports and sessions on the most topical issues of the industry. Within the framework of the business program, the president of the International Center of Wine and Gastronomy Leonid Gelibterman made a presentation «National cuisine as part of the cultural heritage».

On the sidelines of the Assembly, the president of ICWAG has held a number of business meetings, in particular, with the Minister of Tourism of Paraguay, during which principle agreements were reached on signing an official cooperation agreement between the ICWAG and the Ministry of Tourism of Paraguay. Cooperation issues were also discussed during negotiations with the Minister of Tourism of Seychelles and the head of the international department of the Ministry of Tourism of Egypt.

The president of ICWAG also signed a cooperation agreement with the National Union of Hospitality Industry of Russia. Negotiations on joint projects were also held with the leaders of the tourism industry of the Federal subjects of Russia, in particular with the Altai Krai, the Republic of Altai, the Republic of Buryatia, the Republic of Dagestan, Irkutsk Oblast, Leningrad Oblast, Moscow, Moscow Oblast, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Novgorod, Primorsky Krai , the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Saint Petersburg and Sverdlovsk Oblast.

Cooperation issues on the UNWTO Silk Road Program were discussed with the UNWTO Executive Director Zhu Shanzhong; the issues on the Last Game at the North Pole project were discussed with the UNWTO Ambassador Viacheslav Fetisov.
