Invited by the Irish Food Board Bord Bia Leonid Gelibterman took part in the first Literature and Gastronomic Festival «Ballymaloe LitFest of Food and Wine».
The festival was held from 3 to 6 May, 2013 near the Irish town of Cork.
The concept of the festival is based on the fact that all its activities (workshops, tastings, lectures, etc., etc.) are carried out by professionals who have published books or articles on given topics.
The gastronomic-wine part was illuminated by such stars as Madhur Jaffrey, who has created a real world fashion on Indian cuisine with her books and television shows; Slaudia Roden, — the author of many best-selling books on Middle Eastern and Spanish cuisine, a writer and a Michelin restaurateur, Thai cuisine Ambassador David Thompson; American chef David Tanis — who writes for the New York Times; most influential wine expert among women, the author of many wonderful books Jancis Robinson and many others.
As a venue they choose estate Ballymaloe, countryside complex consisting of a hotel, restaurant, coffee shops, cooking schools, shops, livestock farms, gardens, vegetable gardens. Here, in Darina Allen`s Ballymaloe Cookery School Irish food traditions are carefully maintained.
